The National Italian-Australian Women’s Association (NIAWA) was founded in 1985 by a group of Italian-Australian women who wanted to have their voices heard and the contribution they made to the Australian society recognised. It is the first and only Italian women’s association in Australia.
Today, it continues to provide thoughtful and evocative events that bring together multiple generations of Italo-Australians to learn, share and support each other.
We warmly invite you to join us as members and friends – so that together we can honour the nonnas, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and friends whose heritage is Italian – they were and are progressive and competent individuals worthy of respect and recognition.

Membership Fees
Annual Membership Fees for 2025
Seniors – $25 individual or $35 couples
Non-Seniors – $35 or Non-Seniors $50 couples
Students – $25
Financial members help to finance the activities of the association and make us a sustainable entity. Most of our events are free to attend so we rely heavily on the contribution of Members. If you would like to contribute above and beyond the small membership fees, NIAWA would be very grateful.
