From Silence to Strength: Forty Years of Migrant Women’s Voices
Join us for a very special afternoon dedicated to the courage, memory and identity of Italian women in Australia who chose to tell their own stories.
There will be readings of extracts from original writings by women who migrated here in the 1950s and 1960s – moving testimonies of those who turned silence into words, and words into bridges across oceans, cultures and generations.
There also will be a screening of a short video showing the origins and activities of NIAWA, followed by a conversation between Prof. Alice Loda and our President Concetta Cirigliano Perna.
We are celebrating the women who, by giving voice to their experiences, connected communities and inspired us all.
